Sailfish fishing in Key Largo

Key Largo is one of the best sailfish destinations on the planet. Cold fronts push sails right onto the reef edge, 3–7 miles offshore.

Sailfish fishing Key Largo

How we fish sailfish in Key Largo

When a cold front rolls through South Florida in December or January, sailfish bunch up along the color change off Key Largo in big numbers. Our captain runs kites with live goggle-eyes and pilchards 3–7 miles offshore — when the bite is on, you can put 5+ releases in a day. We tag and release every sailfish. The Deep Sea Big Game charter is the trip for sailfish. November through April is the window; December through February is peak.
